The place is located in a forested Vantacici Bay in the west part of the island of Krk. The nearest major town is Malinska. Thanks to its geographical location, the region is protected from cold winds, with low rainfall and about 260 days of sunshine a year. The climate is mild and Mediterranean.
Krk in its history was one of the centers of Croatian culture. One of the most important written documents of the Croatian language is the Baska tablet from 1100. These discovered in the Romanesque Chapel of St. Lucija near the village of Baska inscribed stone slab with an inscription written in Glagolitic script. Describes the sovereignty of the Croatian King Zvonimir I. as the founder of the chapel. In the history, very significant Croatian noble family Frankopan was originally raised to the rank of prince on the island of Krk.

On the island there are about 1300 different species of plants, including characteristic species such as stone and downy oak and hop hornbeam European or Oriental hornbeam. On the southeast cliff griffon vulture are nesting, therefore the local coastal strip between Glavina and Mala Luka in a width of 1km in 1969 was declared as the ornithological reserve. The number of the island-occurring mammalian species, however, is relatively low. It happens that brown bears reach to open up a new territory swimming from the mainland over the Velebit Channel t the island. Krk has over 850 species of butterflies and herpetofauna of the richest of all the Mediterranean islands. Especially characteristic is the almost ubiquitous Ruineneidechse. Among the twelve species of snake on the island is the only poisonous snake, the European viper, however, far more common are the Balkan whip snake, the yellowgreen whip snake Aesculapian.
The island of Krk has about 219 km beaches, and is known as the Island of the Blue Flag. There are wonderful beaches. Great beaches, small secluded coves and sandy beaches. The sea water quality of the beaches is very good everywhere (status = blue).
The main supply of restaurants and taverns (traditional restaurants) is based on fish and seafood dishes. But there are also very good meat dishes.
There are numerous ways. For example, from Malinska to the neighboring island of Cres and from Krk or Punat to the island of Rab. But also picnic trips with fishing boats and scenic drives with Glassboats are offered.
